After visiting Laos earlier this year, I was really missing the cuisine I had there. So chef @saengdouangdara and I made Laab Meatballs, which includes ground chicken as the protein base and flavors of green onions, cilantro, ginger, garlic and lime leaves, and @laospices To keep this recipe lighter, we air fried these instead of pan frying them in oil.

@eatfamous and I went on the highest walking tour sans handrails with a 360 degree view, located at the @cntower in Toronto, Canada. It was so much fun and the instructor made it fun and kept us safe. This activity is def for thrill seekers who want a rush of adrenaline.

Fun fact: The dramatic entrance of the property includes a long bridge that ends with a huge circular pool of water symbolizing chopsticks and a rice bowl. Although the property was built over two decades, the architecture still feels very modern and also includes a lot of local cultural symbolism. Check out @fsbali IG page to see the drone shots of this beautiful resort set in the Balinese Jungle.

My favorite part of the resort was how the staff treated us @kinyaclaiborne and I like VIPs. This was the best hospitality service I have ever experienced while traveling domestically or aboard. All the staff members knew our names, our activities on the property, and our dietary preferences at the restaurants. It felt like I had been coming here for the last 10 years, even though it was my first time. I could def get used to this treatment. Thank you @fsbali for hosting us.

Whether you are watching Futbol ⚽️ or Football 🏈 , this mango mocktail is a must try for this sports season.

Here’s the recipe: Add 3 oz of mango puree, 1 oz sugar-free and alcohol free triple sec, ½ oz lemon or lime juice, and 4 ice cubes into a shaker until chilled. Then pour this drink into your preferred glass cup with a chili and lime mix rim for added flavor and add mint leaves on top as garnish.

Currently, Keitt and Kent mango varieties are in season and can be included in refreshing drinks, savory meals, or desserts. When ripe, it should have a slight give when pressed gently, like an avocado. Would you try to make this drink for your next game day?

Who wants to join me in Bali? 🚲

Riding an e-bike was such a unique experience because my friends and I were able to enjoy special moments that may have otherwise been missed if we were driving a car.

I would say that this is easier to go off the beaten path like touring the rice patty fields and more economical to rent a motorbike. It’s a mode of transportation I didn’t know was an option, which is why I wanted to share with you all.

Ever feel like you’re stepping back into time?

That’s how I felt discovering many of these pagodas, temples, and stupas. The outside may appear to have one earth toned color, but the inside may have a completely different color. It was interesting to see that these pagodas included Buddha statues with pointier noses and slender bodies echoed from the Indian vs Chinese stupas, which are chubbier.

Here are our 3 remedies to soothe a sore throat while traveling abroad this summer.

#1 Ordering salty soups like Vietnamese Pho when I was in Hanoi. Or eating Korean Bean Sprout Soup while I was in Korea

#2 My Taiwanese mom recommends @ninjiom.unitedstates Pei Pa Kow as it has 13 herbs (ginger, pummelo peel, etc), alongside honey and menthol to nourish the lungs and protect and soothe your throat. Brunei has one of the oldest and largest water village communities, known as Kampong Ayer, which houses over 13k residents. Although these homes are built on stilts, some structures also incorporate concrete for added stability. Batu Cave in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is one of the most vibrant destinations that I’ve been to in Asia. From the golden statue of Lord Murugan, god of war and victory, to the rainbow staircase symbolizing a spiritual journey for many Hindu pilgrims, to the multicolored to the Sir Venkatachalapathi and Alamelu Temple, you definitely want to include this place on your bucket list.

While in Singapore, my friends and I took a cooking class to learn about Peranakan cuisine from Ruqxana of @cookerymagic These unique dishes are a fusion of Chinese, Malaysian, Indonesian, and Indian flavors, which reflect the country’s diverse cultures. Here are the dishes we cooked and ate:

·      Ayam Pongteh (Braised Chicken w/ Fermented Soybeans & Potatoes) – includes flavors of garlic, shallots, ginger, carrots, & dried mushrooms

·      Asam Prawns – includes flavors of tamarind, soy sauce, garlic and ginger

·      Duan Keledel Masal Lemak (Sweet Potato Leaves with Coconut Milk) – has flavors of chilies

·      Onde Onde ( Glutenous Rice Balls) – includes flavors of has rice flour, coconut and palm sugar

·      Blue Butterfly Pea Flower Rice – has flavors of Pandan leaf

Would you rather try surfing or Muay Thai boxing?

On my trip to Phuket, Thailand, I tried both for the first time, Surfing reminded me of the days when I used to snowboard but in much warmer weather. And yes, I fell often but I’m all about progression over perfection. And my previous boxing lessons helped me a bit for my Muay Thai boxing activity as well. Lesson learned… be patient. It’s Progression > Perfection.
